Home workshop - stands and tools!?
Discussion
Upto now I have done my maintenance at work or sent it of to the lbs.
With a recent extension and clear out I now have room at home, but no tools or equipment!
There are various 'tool kits' available on eBay, but how to know what is best? I already have a couple of park tools and they seem quite good - worth plumping the cash for their advanced tool kit?
They also do what seems to be quite a nice stand, but it soon all adds up and will be taking money from the new bike fund!

I have a real mish mash of tools built up over 20 years, but have a few park tools bits, seems fine to me.
The stand I have some experience with, I've used one and it's great for £80 or so. As it was, I felt the price a bit rich at the time so bought the Aldi one for £30 and to tell you the truth it's great. Corners at clearly cut over the park tools one and for maintenance I'd prefer that one, but for holding the bike while being hosed down and cleaned the Aldi one is great.

I got a stand from ebay - this one in fact:

Which for less than 30 quid has been brilliant. I don't have anything to compare it against but it is very sturdy and holds the bike really well at any height and any position. I would highly recommend it.

There's another for the "what bike bits have you just bought" thread!
(Good value that!)
