Picked up a Pro-Ject P1.2 up at a car boot sale, hidden under a pile of kids toys and general rubbish.
Mechanically it seems perfect, lid has cup burns and scratches galore.
Anything available that can restore it to a reasonable standard? Not expecting as new but in a non embarrassing look would be good. Tried ceramic hob cleaner which has made it a tiny bit better.

Probably too bad for that. Needs some serious polishing back first.
In my old game of selling old audio gear a long while back 'duraglit' used to work a treat. This is really bad.

well years ago when I had a turntable, t-cut certainly dealt with cup burns and mild scratches easily enough.

I know it's not quite the same, but I've seen people wet sand then polish plastic headlight covers on Detailing World. You can get a few sheets of various grades of P2000/3000/4000 wet and dry paper quite cheaply on eBay, just make sure you soak it overnight before use. Start with the finest grade and only use a lower grade if the marks just aren't going.

Work your way up to P4000 (or whatever the finest you can get) then polish out the sanding marks with T cut or whatever fine polish you have. Of course it would be easier with a polishing machine, but you'd have to be really careful with heat build up anyway, so by hand might be safer.
