I do hope Gallagher gets a captains pick over Poulter.

As good as IP was Las time his golf has been terrible since.

Europeans still big favourites for me, with the following caveats.

Don't like the Westy and Gallacher picks, both very quesitonable with a putter in hand and the RC is won an lost on the greens most times.

I said 6 weeks ago I think Luiten could be a monster in Matchplay, he's in form now as well, winning the Wales Open yesterday.

I am on the fence about Poults, sooner or later you would think he has to play crap after relying in a pick, hopefully not this time.

Condtions, course and fans will all suit us more than them.

Tom Watson is one of the true greats, him being Captain along with the fact that the US team are probably the biggest underdogs since inception could have the ability to galvanise them in a way we normally see the Europeans acting, as a real team, Tiger not being there should also help in that regard I think.

Cannot wait for it to start, the standard of golf that is produced by only 24 players every single RC is frankly staggering.

Really hope JR draws Phil in the singles again!

im looking forward to this immensley.

two years ago we were glued to the TV for three days.

I think europe start as marginal favourites however there is something that erks at me with Tom Watson - I think he will get the very best out of his team and we have a two or three players off form.

I really like Mcginley's outlook and he is interviewing really well up to pres.

roll on Friday and it should be a fantastic sporting spectacle!

Nice.

I've seen mixed forecasts for the weekend, some showing wind up to 30mph gusts and Gleneagles is pretty exposed iirc, could make for some intersting golf.

Tiger not being there is a huge boost for the US I fear.

He's always been a distraction rather than an overwhelming positive for them in my eyes.

Its Jimenez as a vice captain that will be the star. Driving about in a cart cigar in hand. We are all envious of him inside.

Love this tournament. Europeans must win....thigh I do hope 'Poults' with his silly hair and stupid trousers shanks it off the first par 3, and has the worst round in RC history.
Can't bare the egotistic, camera loving preener.
Anyone who wears a white belt should not be in any team IMO.

Quite simply, if he does that, we won't win, him, Rory and to some degree Westwood will be the barometer.

I hate him for 103 weeks out of 104, I make exception for the RC

Poulter is a golfer who divides opinion. I for one like the guy he has that sod factor about him that in Match play makes him a weapon for the European team. His talent coupled with that cocky ahole factor is why he wins so often. He will continue to be a pick for the RC untill his form dips to a very very poor level.

Even then he ups his game no end when it comes to taking on the Yanks.
