Identify the satnav cradle competition
Discussion
Bit of a long shot this.....
I'm looking at importing an old car from Japan, and just about everything there seems to be infected with ridiculously large aftermarket communications systems, and the redundant paraphanalia
Anyhow this particular car I fancy has this extreme looking device, and I can't work out whether its just attached with a sucker, or actually carved into the dash!
Agree it's unlikely but I'm sure we have all had to deal with damage from mobile phone installs in the past, you know the ones where you question the parentage of whoever would take a drill to leather clad panel, so not impossible....
There are no better pics and my Japanese is a bit rusty. Anyone recognise it, and can it be removed without damage?

If it is stuck on and the dash is leather then the dash is probably damaged. Happened to me with a genuine Garmin 'sticky' satnav mount, when I took it off there was an imprint of the mount left on the leather and I couldn't get the mark off with any leather friendly products. I wrote to Garmin and asked what the chemical on the base of the mount was but they declined to tell me other than to say that "if I used the mount then it was my my responsibility" so no help at all.

Oops sorry all, I sort of gave up on replies to this but it seems to have had a minor flurry 3 weeks after posting!
Missed the car, got gazumped by somebody who had rejected, dithered, then jumped back in. Will keep an eye out though it seems like this importer trawls the bottom end with damages cars etc, probably an escape.
Why import one? Well the last spec of the car wasn't imported here but did go to other RHD markets, plus the Jap ones are highly specced. Bonkers I know, but would like one of these as a keeper for a future classic.
