The Official 2014 Italian GP Thread ***Spoilers***

I was lucky enough to go the Italian GP years ago when Schumacher was in his Ferrari pomp. Awesome event. Felt sorry for the German fan who had consumed so much lager on his coach trip across the alps that he passed out during the parade lap and missed virtually the whole race.
A pity that this is another classic, bedrock Grand Prix, that the drivers and fans love, that has full grandstands, which BCE feels the need to have a pop at/threaten.

I'm going to say a Williams win.
I'm keeping everything crossed for this. Would love to see Williams win this year and overhaul Ferrari to third in the championship. ash73 said:
I'm hoping for Bottas to win, and Ricciardo to put the cat amongst the pigeons again with an ultra thin rear wing, but I fear the Mercs might be cruising to a sensible 1-2 this time out; with both drivers displaying slopey shoulders.
Would be nice to see Massa achieve some form, too.
Only a cruise if Hamilton is in front of Rosberg.Would be nice to see Massa achieve some form, too.
Can't see Hamilton cruising otherwise, he really has to finish in front his "team mate".

First paragraph - A pity that this is another classic, bedrock Grand Prix, that the drivers and fans love, that has full grandstands, which BCE feels the need to have a pop at/threaten.
Second paragraph - I hate how the magic of having 100,000 people attend a GP on the Sunday at a historic track is considered unimportant because of the TV audience, such that it's OK to have fake grandstands like at the Chinese GP which are just big billboards, and an attendance of 20,000.
Figures are made up
Rooting for a Bottas victory, myself. His string of podiums shows he deserves it, and I think the Williams is capable of bringing it to the Mercedes team on such a straight line speed track.
Hamilton needs to finish in front of Rosberg for a few races, but luck swings to and fro - I think we've all forgotten LH's four straight victories towards the beginning of the season and NR's downcast demeanour...

Same engine as Mercs, but Mercs seem to be more aero efficient. No reason why they won't be just as quick as the Williams in a straight line and still be better in the corners. Should I bring the custard?
Well Spa was supposed to be all about top speed too, but nobody could hold a candle to the Mercs - so if they play nicely then it's a 1-2. Red Bull belied the down on power Renault engine and Ferrari were competitive despite bolting a barn door on the back in anticipation of rain - their extra slow top speed didn't harm them too much, so expect better speed from them at Monza to still be competitive. Also, the team's are slowed one ratio change - I expect Ferrari will use it at their home race.
Sooooo... If Merc trip up, then I'm going for a Ferrari 1-2, with Kimi outgunning Alonso and sealing the deal for the Spaniards exit at the end of the season.

As always I'd like to see McLaren and Williams do well. But I suspect that Quali will easily belong to Merc.
In the race I think the Mercs will come together again (somehow or other), and Ricky will be win. Maybe Williams and McLaren to populate the rest of the podium - too much to hope for.

Yes, I wouldn't be surprised - what are the odds on a coming together at the chicane at the end of the start finish straight? In the race I think the Mercs will come together again (somehow or other), and Ricky will be win.
