Stunning house for the money, really made me want to check it out and go and stay there
A PH'er stayed there a year or so back iirc. They said it was a wonderful place.Lovely place when they had finished it.
I thought it had actually been for sale for a while.

The couple on this week's episode were amazing. What a fantastic thing to do and with such utter dedication, drive and unswerving belief. The property was stunning and it was wonderful to see it returned to its former glory. I've realised that having watched some of the 'revisiteds' recently, GD used to be a lot better than it is now though which is a real shame.
Huge respect for that couple, him in particular - a truly talented and motivated man.
House is wonderful, interior taste is horrible (but my very personal opinion which I am sure they will hate), and the grounds have been beautifully restored.
I enjoyed going revisiting this one, although I fast forward the first 45 mins on these repeats/revisits

A few too many these days are just rich couples giving £0.5m-£1m or so to some trendy architect. We need more couples like that who are putting in their own efforts and are passionate about the build. Funk said:

I felt the same really - I've re-watched some of the older ones and there are some great ones, but I found I was able to fast-forward through a lot of the floating house build as it just wasn't holding my interest. Yet a recent re-run of the one where a couple bought a ruined castle on the top of a hill in Tuscany was really good, even though I've seen it several times.AyBee said:

Stayed there twice now. Interesting place with an interesting history.
For those who have stayed there, did you go specifically to see that place or just stop one night on a long trip. I assume you drove there?though we did visit Oradour-sur Glaine whilst there, which is a 'must-see' and a French boot sale where I was very tempted by the below (that would count as a frivolous purchase I suspect!)...
Both times for us was a stop over, once on the way down to the Sud Ouest and once on the way back.
First time the barn/gites were only a twinkle, the second time they were finished. I think the last time we were there was around two years back, the first must have been around five or six years ago.
