...and lots of self-important pseudo-professional "something in media" types made up of some chinless wonder with money and his stay-at-home wife (invaribaly with an overdose of The Mental) who dig themselves a massive hole, sometimes financially, sometimes literally, don't appear to have the first clue about building, blame it all on the architect, then get all emotional when the bank declines another £50k for a hand made Italian glass door knob or some such other tat.
Dreadful program.

It's a good job you're not forced to watch it then...

Superb I can't wait and wouldn't be surprised if a house near me is on it. Stupidly big white box type house, looks like a hotel, one if those passive jobbies where farts and cooking smells are trapped inside. It's taken them 2 years to build must have run out of money along the way it's prime for grand designs.

The combination of random 'revisited' episodes, episodes that had to stop before the build was actually complete and some less than inspiring builds dropped our interest in the series. Hopefully they'll have found something a bit more fresh this time round.

Yay!

Seems a while since the last series was on. I'm off to make some bingo cards with 'eco', 'off grid', 'over budget', 'pregnant', 'project manage the build themselves', 'underfloor heating' and 'the windows don't fit' written on them hehe

Nice location but I am not sure I would want to be that close to the cliff as (from my memories of visiting my gran who lived there) it seemed to collapse periodically.

...not forgetting:
"with every one being made by hand taking approximately 200 hours each"

and of course "I just don't see how they're going to do it"

Still, it's always worth a watch, if rather predictable.

That's the bit that annoys me.

In reality what they're going to do is get in the way, fail to make any meaningful decisions and then just sort-of-wing-it-a-bit.

It's like someone sticking a plaster (badly) on a grazed knee and calling themselves a doctor.

Where did this whole 'I'm going to project manage' thing, in relation to choosing a few wall tiles, come from?
