Hi everyone,

I have a 2010 S5 and am looking for an AUX cable so I can run Spotify from my phone through the car audio system. Can someone confirm if this is the right cable?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-Music-Interface-AMI...

OR, if someone has a cable they want to flog me, let me know!

Thanks

I don't know whether that will work - probably - but AFAIK the "official" Audi cables are either USB or Apple 30 pin rather than 3.5mm headphone jack. Possibly they charge the device as well as receiving audio.

I have seen a bluetooth dongle that plugs onto the end of the Apple 30 pin cable, but it is about £60. Nice solution, but expensive.

Thanks. I know that Audi make this type of cable because I had one a while back. I was looking on fleabay because it would be 10% of the cost of the official cable from Audi :-)

Did Audi change the MMI interface at all, or has the socket always been the same shape and size?

Socket is the same but wiring and coding do change.

In my experience the cheapy ebay cables don't work. People baulk when you tell them 35 quid for a genuine one, try the ebay one then order Audi anyway after realising their bargain does nothing.

I've. Been curious. If the 3.5mm ones work Can't see them available if they didn't

I bought one off ebay 2 years ago, still working. Must have been lucky!

I tried one from eBay, it worked but I was not happy with the fit. Bought genuine after that.
