just shows how easily LI can be manipulated

and if he is 'Senior Counsel' where's the silk ?

given long standing members of the Bar who are not silk are only 'Leading Juniors ' what gives this fantasist Solictor -advocaat the right to describe himself thus ...

Plenty more about him on that site.

The Joint Armed Forces Legal Advocacy Service is the fancy title he has dreamed up for his practice.
You even get a free five and a half minutes of Labi Siffre on his home page. rolleyes

I would love to know what his connection is with the Royal Society for Public Health.
Maybe he has a Level 2 Award in Encouraging a Healthy Weight and Healthy Eating?
https://www.rsph.org.uk/en/qualifications/2015-fee...

Another of his claims is to be the Earl of Dublin. The title has been created three times by the English monarch.
Twice in the peerage of Ireland, firstly for Prince Henry younger brother of George III, and then Prince Edward fourth son of the same king.
And once in the Peerage of the United Kingdom for Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, eldest son of Queen Victoria.

His appears to be the title mentioned here (note the web address!)
I very much doubt the coat of arms which appears on the home page is genuine. The crest appears to be wrong for Blacker of Carrick Blacker.
It doesn't match that of William Blacker who inherited the estate. Nor that of Valentine Blacker of Madras

The motto is correct but the banner should be a curved scroll not a straight band. It's all a load of censored imo.

He hasn't fared to well in his spats with the press and the judge either. biggrin

I wonder where things currently stand with the SRA?

Amusing thread here - http://lawbytes.boards.net/thread/260/lord-harley-...
Turns out it wasn't quite so funny after all - http://lawbytes.boards.net/thread/647/believe

More CV fun and games - http://lawbytes.boards.net/thread/944/fake-lord-ha...

He appears to have a rival down under. laugh.

The Great British Eccentric is https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/a/... and should be lovingly preserved. smile
However with Lord H I think it might be wise to make an exception. Reliance thereon in a serious case may be no laughing matter.

It's not saying much if the legal profession can't close him down if his qualifications are fake, is it. Is he qualified to practice or not?

i think the issue is that his qualifications maay well be legit - for a high st solicitor who does a bit of crown court defence work ...

not for someone who is implying he knows better than Judges and Silks

BV has said its "PRACTISE", but I had a joke with one solicitor on this. I said- we Engineers engineer, but solicitors practice ( or practise). HIS comment was that "one day we'll get it right". Perhaps that day they become Barristers . laughconfused

Not before time, in my view. The guy is mildly funny in a sad way (but is mostly just deeply sad), but there are reasons to doubt whether he is fit to practise law, especially if he seeks to provide legal services to vulnerable clients.

Maybe he'll be fined heavily and lose his house.

Then he'll be Lord Harley of Council.
