My wood look GRP garage door was dull and faded around a year ago.

IIRC I wiped WD40 over the surface which rejuvenated it but it's gone dull again so I thought I'd ask for suggestions.

I wondered if Linseed oil might be worth a try

Treat it like a GRP car. Give it a cut back and some polish.

I'll try a small area but it has a "wood grain" finish so I suspect I won't be able to get the polish out of the grooves.

I wouldn't put oil on it you'll just make a mess. I'd try some plastic reviver as used on plastic interiors of cars. Or plastic car bumper dressing.

There used to be stuff for this called Owatrol, no idea if it's still available or not. Google suggests it is, but is also used as a brand name for a bewildering array of other things that have nothing to do with GRP.

Yes, funny. I wouldn't put oil on something that is totally non-absorbent but each to their own eh.

Thanks now you mention it I remember Baby oil being mentioned before.

Too late though - I used the linseed mixed 50:50 with W Spirit - looks great at the moment.
