Don't count on that aspect too much.
I was told by the present owner of the yellow GT3 (photo on your own topic page), "What a bargain."
The new 991 GT3 is reckoned to be a bargain because at a basic list price of £102K it is faster around most circuits than a lot of other super cars costing considerably more. I believe Steve Sutcliffe from Autocar declared it to be an a superior car to a Fezza 458 which costs £108K more.
All last generation Gt2's Gt3's and RS's have all leapt in value, which is nice!

Had my number 2 Aston (Purdey) not been written off in the most unfortunate of circumstances I would unquestionably still have it. That car was as perfect as a car could be. In 14000 miles we had no problems whatsoever. I very proudly declared that it was to be a keeper!
Alas it was not to be.

Just for Rob's benefit..
what a great weekend it was for driving your Aston around, wasn't it?
I needed petrol and always like to empty the tank first so I took the scenic 70 mile round trip route to the V-Max pump from Monmouth to Hereford, Crickhowell and back, mainly to partially recall the fun times of WW2014 and also in search of Molly and Rob weeping by the side of the road...
anyone else have a good weekend? Least we can do is post a picture to remind them of what they're missing..

Next time call us first & we'll put the kettle on
The time after that - call us first and we'll show up in Crickhowell in something very fast & very red & we'll see how it goes round the WW route

Junction to junction taking into account traffic etc there will be nothing in it. Not dissimilar to DBS vs V8V 4.3. Just an observation Next time call us first & we'll put the kettle on

Does it come with an extra strong sheep clearer like one of those US steam trains? Red being the Welsh colour, they may be attracted to admire it from the middle of the road!

997 gt3 isnt going up, a mkI relative bargain at the moment.
996 gt3 have only been going up in last 6-12 months. They took 10 years to do that.
I wouldnt count on great residuals, but welcome the surprise should they be.
I nearly bought a 996 gt3 when i bought me v8 vantage, i should have done, i could have chopped it out to buy a v12 vantage now, ah well, hindsight is a wonderful thing, and at the timing coming from a 996 c2 it didnt feel special enough (though many would disagree). I daren't even think about the matching numbers swb 911s I said no to at 25k 5 years ago. :-(

ah now you're talking gibbon - the only 911's I can see really holding their value longer term are the air-cooled ones, a nice 1972 911s Targa would have some appeal
Suspect people still wouldn't let you out from a junction in it though
I would agree long term, but I think we may be in for a short term correction, the prices for kit that's really not that nice has gone crazy, I could of course well be wrong.Suspect people still wouldn't let you out from a junction in it though

I think you'll find Nick I would be quicker in my 4.3 than the GT3, as people will let the Aston out at juntions
Nice one NeilHowever, I know Rob's occasional quote was something like 'its not about how fast you can go but how good you feel going fast' but I'm hoping that, although we will miss the Aston's specialness (something you would know all about ), I think its likely we will still feel pretty good in the new car
Missing you already ..........
