Never been to LM, but keep thinking about doing it, and it's about time I stopped thinking and started doing.

What's the score with the PH aspect of it? Reading the posts suggests there's a PH area, but not what that area actually is. Is there an organised camping/accom area or does everyone do their own thing and meet at a set location, or is it a bit of both?

a LM Wiki might be useful for those like me who haven't been before.

If you use the search feature on the forum you will find everything that you need to make your trip a great one.

Easier to do that than sit and wait for someone to come along and write a book in reply to your questions lol

If you are interested in the PH private camping then the details for 2014 are here

http://www.1st-tickets.co.uk/ph/enquiriesph.html

There are others offering similar private sites and we have switched to one of those for next year. Have been in the PH area for the last three years and the food has got worse each year. Still perfectly edible but generally cold. Still a lot better than what you'll get on the circuit (which is dire) but not great. Appreciate that a part of that is catering for a couple of hundred people in a marquee and the back of a van but cold sausages and bacon at breakfast is not good and cold beans are only for students smile

The private sites are more than general camping but it depends how you value catering a fence, very clean toilets and security (oh and no queue for showers unless you HAVE to shower first thing in the morning). Both this year just gone and next year is costing us £500 each Thu-Mon for ferry, camping, tickets, catering and grandstand.

Thanks for that stemll, that answers much of my query.

I'm very familiar with LM, it's history and have read the Club Arnage stuff before, but it doesn't cover the PH aspect. Also, I'm sure searching the forums will turn up a lot of useful stuff, but it turns up so much other stuff that it's impossible to find the useful content without wading through thousands of threads; searching for 'pistonheads le mans' within the le mans section of pistonheads it a rather futile exercise.

After having a great time this year, good food safe camping and at great price £250 per person with food included going back to Bounty.

Already booked the ferry as good time slots go fast.

In addition to the formal PH camping there's also the informal PH meet on the Friday, open to anyone who turns up.

From what I saw this year, the quality of food vendors has massively improved. Then even spoke very good English & were pleasant to talk to!
