Siezed rear Wiper pivot on E91
Discussion
Hi all,
Im new to the BMW side of PH and wondered if anyone can help me progress things. I have a badly seized wiper pivot and read various advice postings on what appears to be a relatively common problem. Anyway Ive followed the attached guide which was very useful and used loads of GT85

Im at the stage where im trying to remove the unit from the tailgate glass so I can then service it properly and safely without risk to glass. Thing is the it just will not budge from the tailgate. Does anyone have any tips or ideas? I ve tried gently taps with rubber mallet and even hammer but no luck.
Any help/advice gratefully received.

I had this problem on my last E91 - once you have taken the wiper arm off, and undone the nut and the circlip, the spindle WILL drop out eventually.
What i did was spray WD40 liberally and then swing the small arm on the inside from one side to the other, which progressively made the spindle spin more freely.
Eventually i could swing it from side to side quite easily, at this stage i used a rubber hammer and tapped it from the outside whilst also swinging from side to side on the inside.
Once it's out, you'll need to rub down the rust on the spindle and then apply something to prevent it happening again (i used liberal quantities of grease).
