As per the title..

I hate the look of saddle bags, but thinking of getting one so I don't have to carry everything in my pockets.

I have a Topeak one that has a mini tool kit and space for a spare tube and light. I'll fish out a link, it does the job, they never look very good I agree, but I don't notice it now.

I've got a Fizik one for my Arione, it clips in and out of their saddles conveniently but is a bit of a PITA to get stuff in and out of it.

I prefer this one that I have on my Whyte:

It's quite bulky but rolls down OK when there's not much in it. It's also properly waterproof.

Think it's a toss up between the Topeak Wedge Small, or the Specialized Wedgie Small..

One thing that annoys me about saddlebags, other than they're ugly is the rattling noise whilst riding.. I want to hear the noise of the chain, the tyres on the road, my panting lungs.. Not rattling around saddle bags.

I have a Lezyne Loaded Caddy, from a recommendation on here, happy with it. It's silent and for 30 odd quid come with tyre levers, puncture kit and a multitool.

I have one of these

http://www.wiggle.co.uk/scicon-aeronaut-aero-saddl...

But it's tiny! Can just fit in a tube, tyre levers, multitool, co2 bannister and the co2 pump head but it's a tight fit.

I could do with one that's just slightly bigger so I can fit the whole co2 pump body and another tube in it but the only other saddle bag I've tried rubbed my leg and wore a hole in my shorts. I might have a look at the 2 wedge ones mentioned above.

If you cant fit everything you need in three pockets, maybe have a look at what you are taking with you and thin it out a bit, there is probably a lot of "just in case" stuff that you really dont need.

If you still need one, the topeak wedge packs with the fixed clip under the saddle are secure and good quality.

I keep some paper towels in there, they fill the gaps in the bag, stop anything rattling and help clean all the oil and grime up after fixing the flat.

I use. Lycra scott one and no rattle at all, can hold 2xtubes, a multi tool, tyre levers, emergency patches, CO2 cylinders.

Oh no, I have lots of room.. But don't want to carry things in my pockets, with winter coming just think it'll be easier with stuff in a bag.

Tempted by the Topeak small clip on, seems most popular on Wiggle and Evans..

I've got all the tools and stuff so only need the bag.

Thanks so far!

You know that there are rules about this sort of thing...

If you do carry stuff in your pockets then these are handy:

I purchased the Lezyne loaded bag to go with my first proper bike in 10 or so years.

Postives: comes with a good multi-tool, puncture repair patches and tyre levers - all good quality. It's silent on the bikes and fits well.

Negative: It's tiny (I went for the Medium so God knows what the Small is like). I can just squeeze my phone and some cash in there, but that's it. Doubt there'd be room for a pump. My OH has a Specialized wedgie in medium on her bike which is far more accommodating.

How about stuffing everything into a spare bottle and just using the seat tube mount for it?

Or one of these:

Trouble I find is that its too easy to forget important bits if you have to load your pockets up every time, packing everything in a bag means its all there you just need to fit it and check once a week! Plus on 100-200 mile rides its easy to fill 3 x pockets and 2 x bike bags when riding in rural areas on your own.

That looks really interesting... Bit pricey but I still might give it a go.

This is the one I have; http://www.topeak.com/products/bags/survivaltoolwe...

Its a bit larger than the wedge, but it doesn't rattle all that much.

I have one of these too, quite big but tools on top and tube phone wallet underneath smile
