Email Issue on Iphone
Discussion
Morning all,
Looking for a bit of help in setting up the email on my iphone which i have on contract from Virgin Mobile.
I have two accounts i need on the phone - one a virgin media account and the other a btconnect account.
I've managed to set up the mail accounts no problem and can receive mail on both. I've successfully sent mail on the Virgin account.
I cannot send on the btconnect account. I'm presuming that i will need to change the outgoing server to match that of the Virgin one but as i understand it, one account is pop whilst the other is IMAP and i'm having severe problems verifying the account.
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

According to a quick Google, these are the outgoing smtp settings. You wont be able to use your Virgin email server for smtp on the BT account, as it wont have the right credentials
SMTP
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.btinternet.com
Port: 465 (this may not be automatically populated on selection of SSL, so you'll need to check this)
SSL Encryption: Enabled (but not STARTTLS)
Authentication: PLAIN
Username: your email address including the @btinternet or @btopenworld.com part
Password: your btinternet password
POP and IMAP are for incoming, so assuming you can receive, then no need to fiddle with those. I have a pet peeve about using POP after mis-deleting email once, but that's not related to your problem so one for another time
