Is the Chimaera notorious for having a heavy clutch?
I recently bought a replacement from http://www.thetvrshop.com and was about have it fitted when someone suggested to me that the clutch in this car is always very heavy.
Is there any truth in that?

Mine is heavy too. Apparently a guy on here (engineer419 or something) does a mod to alleviate it.I recently bought a replacement from http://www.thetvrshop.com and was about have it fitted when someone suggested to me that the clutch in this car is always very heavy.

Someone will be along shortly to say exactly what it is...
Hi,
My solution was to buy a Clutch Kit (genuine AP for Rover 3500)from John Eales, then move the Clutch MASTER CYLINDER pivot point on the Clutch Pedal to a higher location plus extend the length of the Clutch and Brake Pedals with adaptor brackets.
A long winded job, but worth all the Trial & Error.
