Herts County Showground SS round up

The Sunday Service raffle tickets really were for prizes! Full details here

Hopefully you'll agree that yesterday's Sunday Service at Herts County Showground was a fantastic morning out. We would like to say thanks to all who came along; anyone else sunburnt too?!

We were treated to an eclectic mix of cars from a beautiful Mk2 Ford Escort to a LaFerrari, Lamborghini Murcielago to Vauxhall Astra and pretty much everything in between. There was even a herd of Clio V6s (that's the collective noun we're using), plus a few two-wheeled PHers as well.

Caterham's wheel challenge was popular!

Thanks also for your feedback on the catering. We will aim for much shorter queues in future but we'll hope you also found the food and drink delicious. More of the same from both The Freeranger and The Mocha Pod in future!

A big PH thumbs up as well must go out to Dunlop, Autoglym, Caterham and Porsche for giving away some great free prizes. You should have all received a small PH smiley sticker on entry too.

The guys from Autoglym also adjudicated a show and shine competition with the opportunity to win a trip to its Bond baddie lair HQ. The winner will be shown the dark art of detailing, with more treats given to the runners up.

The car that was chosen for the main Autoglym prize was a gorgeous E36 M3 GT, a fitting winner for a great prize. The runners up prizes went to an immaculate Mini and a lovely red Vauxhall VXR8.

The wheel change challenge was very popular popular too so thanks to Caterham Motorsport for coming along. Congratulations to Daren Priston, Greg Smith, Simon Stocks, Tim Smith and Henryk Schmied as fastest pit stop mechanics and worthy winners of the excellent prizes Caterham were handing out.

Now then, the raffle. The important bit. Just as a reminder, the winning prize was a set of Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres of any size fitted at a HiQ garage. Second in the draw was a Porsche Driving Experience at Silverstone. All you had to do to be in with a chance of winning was turn up... and remember where you put your ticket!

Winner of the Dunlop tyres is Yellow ticket #128 and the Porsche Silverstone day Pink ticket #144. If you have either of those tickets, please send me (eybic) a picture of the ticket through the forum profile link at the bottom of the story. Once everything is confirmed we'll get your prize sorted ASAP.

Furthermore, there are just a few weeks to wait until the next Sunday Service! There's more info to follow this week but we're returning to a Ferrari racing day. It will be at Silverstone on September 14 and as always it will be absolutely free to join in. Furthermore everyone will get free entry to the race meeting. For anyone who hasn't been before it is an incredible spectacle to see Maranello's finest racing wheel to wheel! Sign up by clicking here and keep your eyes peeled for some more info later this week!

Thanks once to everyone who attended, see you again very soon.

Good work on the Ferrari Racings Days SS - loved the one I went to last year (or the year before? I can't remember when it was) - would have loved to go again but I've got plans that morning already frown

Sneaky way of announcing what is probably the most anticipated SS wink Signed up \o/

Oh, and yes, the Herts SS was brilliant too, although I remain unconvinced that the 23 odd seconds it took for the Caterham wheel challenge winners is even humanly possible!

Silverstone was brilliant last time round, got my name down again. Any idea if we can buy tickets on the day? Got 2 mates who might be coming as passengers but won't know until the morning of the event.

Here is a better picture of the winner, gorgeous car. My dad uses Max Protect, as I know this car’s owner does, and the results are fantastic.

The E36 was lovely, very envious of the owners M3 collection. "The" special example of each incarnation and all in impeccable condition is outstanding work. Every time I see any of the cars at a Sunday Service I have to go in for a closer look. beer

Last Sunday was great day out and had a really interesting selection of PH'ers cars. Thanks as ever for organizing the event.

However - take a black mark for setting the next Sunday Service for September 14th. That's the weekend of the Goodwood Revival event and thousands of us (well, myself and 3 mates) will be up at crack of dawn and heading South, not North to Silverstone... A pity.

There's plenty of us that either can't afford the tickets or can't get hold of them so I'm sure they'll be a half reasonable turnout.

Unfortunately we are dictated by the date that Ferrari decide to get its owners together so it's not us that chose the date.
