Steering rack / upper UJ

Have changed out steering bearing this morning , but now have a niggle at the back of my head that the triangular shaft isn't in the upper UJ far enough ? . I'm sure I'm just being paranoid about it. At present the UJ clamp just fits over the shaft with no excess shaft sticking through......if that makes sense. I'll try and get some pics but appreciate if anyone can have a look at there cars and let me know .

Appreciate any advice given.

On mine the shaft sticks through, past the clamping plate, just a couple of millimetres.

Cheers for that. I've looked at that joint a 100 times but never really taken any real notice.

I did mine recently, it has about 3 mm protruding. ( S1 )
