Disproved many times on here. Why do people not bother to check this ridiculous stuff first?

Not as good as the personal alarm rescue beacon (EPIRB?) That had activated sparking a search , including Nimrod aircraft . It was eventually located in a boat on a low loader on a motorway in the midlands .
Activated when it fell into a water filled bilge , I suspect this was internet Bo##ocks as well .

i Suspect so, because an Epirb gives its location in almost real (depending on sat coverage) so it would seem unlikely they would send a Search and rescue nimrod to the midlands. Activated when it fell into a water filled bilge , I suspect this was internet Bo##ocks as well .

Not quite in the same league, but I used to work with an ex-Navy bloke. who loved to tell the tale about when they had moored up next to a big Yank cruiser with a couple of them leaning over the handrail having a smoke "What's it like being in the second biggest Navy in the world" one of the Yanks shouted
Without batting an eyelid, the British Jack Tar carried on swabbing the deck and replied with
"Whats it like being in the second best?"

Without wishing to be argumentative, I've been in the military for 17 years and I've never heard this story related once. Mind you, the latter half of your sentence is absolutely spot on.Gassing Station | Speed, Plod & the Law | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
