Anyone fancy the Ring 19/22 Sept
Discussion
A spot has arisen on a trip I have planned. There is an option for a twin/double room in a cabin on the Ferienpark near the Ring. £140 for 3 nights for 2 people, or £80 for one. We are catching the 6am ferry out of Dover Friday 19th and the 6pm ferry out of Calais on Monday 22nd. You clearly can make your own travel arrangements. We also have meals booked at the Pistenklause and Comfy Corner for 2 of the nights, which you'd be welcome to join in with. The 20 and 21 Sept are two full days of Nordschleife Touristenfahren, so too good an opportunity to miss for some lapping.
Get in touch if you are interested in coming along.

I might fancy a lap or two. Our group consists of 2 Skoda Fabia vRS (2013 estate in black and my 2001 "vRS" mark 1 in silver) Will also be a light blue Ibiza in tow. Looking forward to a nice weekend! About to head to overnighter in Dover, then getting to the Ring for about late lunchtime.

Hey me and some buddies are already going! What will you be driving? We'll be in a black Golf Mk4 4-motion and a blue Astra 888
See you there perhaps!
Ahhh, I think I was behind your friend in the 888 Astra, in my last session. I was in Rent4Ring Swift, it was the bright Orange one, so couldn't be missed! I wish I'd looked at this thread before going on, it was a bit of a last minute visit, as I'm at Spa for work, so couldn't resist driving over to the Ring and chucking a rental around . See you there perhaps!
That was really really wet
Open for 10 mins.. crash.. shut for 30-1hour.. Open for 10 mins... crash.. shut.. and repeat.
I saw some BMW with stretched tires that on about the 6th bend the lip of the wheel had ripped off and was sat in the middle of the road!!!

Just high humidity!
But yes it is surprising the number of enthusiasts who are obviously clueless on the danger of streched tyres. It might look "cool"BUT it is also pretty stupid running tyres so the the area that was never intended to make contact with the road is being used on every turn. The tread SHOULD be the same width as the rim! Surprising also are the amount of manufacturers who, to a lesser degree, strech tyres on thier standard rims.Renault being one-push a Clio really hard and the take a look at the sidewall, half of which will have been worn away!!!

Bit of a long shot I know but did anyone else see the BMW/Lotus incident hap P en in Fuches Ruhe?
I drove past it for a couple of laps but didn't see it happen. It looked like a RSR Lotus. RSR had a busy weekend with paper work looking at the amount of smashed cars they had. The GT86 seemed to be attracted to the Aramco especially when it rained. This the crash that closed the track on saturday morning. He got taken away in an ambulance but think he was ok.
