One of the graduates in work has admitted that he's never used a phonebox. Not massively unsurprising nowadays but got me thinking....

In the same context, what do you think the answer will be when we be ask the young folk, in 15 years time, what they have never used?

TV and other AV remote controls. Voice and gesture should be commonplace in the next 10 years.

A floppy disk. They'll just think it's the 'save' icon...

Not sure about the 15 years bit, but driverless cars must be the future?

My children (11 and 14) DO think it is just the save icon. I showed them a disk and they had no idea what is was.

I think you can say 5 years for that. It's got to be at least 9 since I used one and the only time I can see me doing so now is when I finally get round to transferring it all to a Memory Stick, which, incidentally, I think will have a much longer predicted life expectancy this week than they did last...

I used to use a phonebox to phone the numbers i'd found in the back of hedge porn.

They'll never experience that feeling.

TV? I have never watched much telly, the wife and daughters do, or did, now they watch Netflix and other services on tablets or computers, I cancelled sky, no one noticed, threw the box out, no one noticed, now the only person that uses a TV in our house is me.
So no, it is very rarely on.

I thought this was supposed to make a revival due to the recent ISP blocking of adult sites.

VCR's, Cassette music, Minidiscs...ironically vinyl will probably outlast them as it's now trendy.

Mobile phone's with batteries that last two weeks too...oh how I miss you Nokia. Actually, that's a point, they might never have used an indestructible Nokia instead of their rather fragile touch screen Samsung!

Proper fags. Amazed how many 'confirmed' smokers have switched to e-cigs.
