Anyone seen this before? Not pretty, but an interesting project for someone.
Do excuse me if this has already been discussed.

Its one of only 3 cars ever made and has an interesting TVR link in that the guys who made it were ex - employees.
There is a 4th Targa shell in existence which I used to own.

2 coupes and 1 targa plus 1 Targa shell were made.

Must make it very valuable on rarity alone wink

For as much venom as some of the modified cars elicit, it's a real surprise that this hideous piece of st abortion isn't drawing any FLAK!

The only positive thing I can imagine, about this eyesore, is that, during the long, cold, Scottish winter months, it could keep you warm, . . . if you burned it!

Best,
B

It's not exactly beautiful, I agree, but on the other hand, I've seen FAR, FAR uglier vehicles than that one.

Sometimes it's hard to tell from a photo.

just to liven this up a bit, I have to say that the new Ford 'bulbous nose' design on it's small vehicle range IS one of the ugliest things I've seen in a long time.....hurl

Have to agree with above comments, it is a bit of a minger!

If it has a genuine 5600 miles and the parts were new in 1980 it might make a great donor car for a poorly M with a good tub.
Chassis could be mint, running gear too. Cologne engine might be barely run in.
Nice set of slots, some value in the number plate (if you could get an mot)
Anyone recognise the tail lights?

The rear lights are Mk4 Cortina.
The chassis was adapted to take Cortina running gear from memory so in itself has been chopped around from an M chassis.

Surely the Rarity of the car would make it worthy of saving. Slow M aren't you doing something similar to the body of your M series?

It would be a crime to try to salvage it for something as common as an M in comparison

This is a rare car surely if only 3 were ever made..Even the most ugly looking things will appreciate in value in time if they are rare enough.
It could well be a shrude purchase with some interesting TVR history attached

Not just similar, I am creating a veritable clone, Dolly. Don't be sheepish, if you can't see the difference. As we all know, taste, and, by association, styling is very subjective. This is why some people can offer styling analyses. Others can't.

Best,
B.

Three too many.

Best,
B.

P.S. Do you really give a damn about rarity, if it is neither a phenomenal performer, or particularly beautiful? I have no affection for mediocrity. Would you saddle yourself with such a beast, only in the hopes of seeing it increase in financial value?

I'd describe the styling as quirky rather than ugly. In fact it's starting to grow on mesmile If I had the space and cash I'd be interested.

Some other unusual cars I also quite like:

Love that one - is it a genetic experiment to cross a Ginetta G20 Junior with a frog eye sprite and a Knobbly Lister with some recessive genes from a UVA Fugitive?

I recall that he had the original Saiga brochures kicking about.
