Could anyone give me some pointers in specific things to look for on a 2007ish Accord diesel?

I'm looking for a work hack, and they seem to offer the space, kit and economy to tick all the boxes.

Service history is a must, if it's high mileage hopefully timing chain has been replaced and exhaust manifold's been replaced.
EGR can be iffy at times but that can be by passed and remapped, check Typeaccord.co.uk for more info.

Also watch for potential abs issues, if the selling person says it's just a sensor, make sure it's not the vsa one as that can get expensive....
Strangely the diesel CRV wasn't affected with the issues that the accord was...
They're not all affected with these issues though, but if you want true Honda reliability ya gotta get a petrol.

I have a 2006 one with about 120k on it.
There's a manifold fault that causes fume smells in the cabin (fixed by honda if its under 100K I gather). Wheel bearings seem to pop up on threads once in a while (two of mine went) and the service history is essential...I think its 0/30 oil in needs and its expensive so some may have skimped and used the cheapest oil they can get....hence rattling noises and potentially costly timing chain replacements.

Gotta say mines been excellent, I'll probably keep it another year then move it on. I'll be chuffed if my next car performs so well.
