So, I've always had a thing for these, despite 80's and 90's German stuff being my main bank drainer I've been keeping an eye out on the classifieds for a while now.

My wife happened to take the kids away for a couple of nights camping last week and I was looking at the classifieds and came across a 93L that looked nice, and more importantly to a Yorkshire man like me, Cheap.

So I went to view it, and ended up buying it. (My wife has said she won't leave me on my own againfrown )

Buying :

Picking up:

Trying to make it fit in the garage (it does, by 5mm)

And all of this for £5.5K, the catch being that sadly it was classified as a Cat C 3 years ago. I'm told it had a knock and the owner wanted it written off but I am not entirely sure where the knock was or how bad it was.

Its got service history until around 2010, The previous owner has had it for 3 years and there are no service details at all in that time. He was a Bentley collector and it did around 800 miles a year in that time so hopefully he at least changed the oil!

I've booked it into Phantom motors on the recommendation of Balmoral on here for Monday, so the true horror of whats wrong with it will become apprarent then. It drives straight, pulls well and apart from a couple of small oil leaks appears fine, the suspension all seems to work too. Once the service is completed I hope to be able to take it for a longer drive and get to know the car, first impressions are its a lovely place to be!

Nice.
Got the late wheels and a mesh grille. Good start. Phantom will look after you - take some biscuits / buns / cakes. That works wonders with the Worthingtons. Stuart likes muffins BTW!!

If you need any bits, particularly interior, let me know as I have loads of take-offs from my track day project.

Cat C could potentially be nothing, a front bumper alone would have cost £2200 + VAT. A stolen radio could easily end up twice that.

Did you take advantage of the sellers easy access arrival facility by any chance?

Looks great Charlie, surprised about the oil leaks. Jamie's Silver Spur didn't leave a drop on my drive when I had it for a few days last week. I guess this has more going on with the turbo etc.

I'm surprised it didn't.

Turbo or non turbo, they nearly all dropped oil and some leaks were built in, by design.

Chaps, the bit of wood on the dash above the glove box, looks like some kind of opening panel, Does it open, if so, How?

I think you'll find that is the airbag cover. You CAN open it - that involves hitting something at some speed......
