Hi Mark. Seems my opinion is laughed at...but I'll try and help anyway wink

The shafts have M8 threads in the ends to allow you to pull them out during disassembly. Just use a long bolt and give them a good pull once you've released the rear-of-engine grub screws holding the shafts.

Pete,

Who laughs? You have experience, only a few of us do..

I know you text'd me and I was in the middle of a major piece of work, hence no reply. Apologies. How's your motor?

Hi John
Good to see you back on here. BTW: I was referring to another thread...frustration having forgotten how this forum brings out the most childish posting habits frown

Anyway, my engine had eaten its big end shells as you might remember...made a very odd noise. So I stripped and decided to upgrade a few bits at the same time. There are still a few things that are work in progress...these things always take longer than expected. But its good fun tbh.

Pete it took me about 7 months to finish my rebuild with some encouraging texts from J. I'm lucky I'm not divorced with the number of swear words I released.

And you know I still looked at some of the pics in the petrol head Pete guide biggrin
