Best TV for 300 quid or less
Discussion
My trusty 7 years old LG 32inch telly has died but I'm a bit skint as doing up our house so have a lowish budget.
Originally I was looking for just a basic set as i have a PJ for movies although not set up yet and a PC for 'apps' etc but now looking at some smart TVs, they may be easier for the wife to use so now reverting back to the potential of a smart TV. Picture quality is priority, sound not really bothered as have HC followed by features.
Size wise, I want bigger than 32, prob up to a max of 42 inches but the width of the whole unit can't be more than 42 inches.
Likely to look at Panasonic, Phillips, LG... any others to consider?
Thanks

One last thing, i do like the idea of controlling TV using my phone or tablet... That is prob number 2 after picture quality.
I really would not let this influence a buying decision.Need to turn the TV down?
Option 1 - Pick up phone, unlock, load app, wait for app to connect to TV (probably, maybe not), press touch screen.
Option 2 - press volume down button on remote.
Ive seen the picture on the Toshiba in a hospital and it was very good to my eyes.

I bought a 39" Panasonic recently for less than £300, not Smart but I don't need it so not bothered. Seen a few Samsungs at that price point too recently.
Must confess that I was very sceptical when I bought it but have no complaints at all, picture & even sound are better than expected.
