Since the reshuffle of Digital TV stations very recently, I have two Toshiba TV's that will now not retune on Digital TV.
I am NW based on the Winter Hill transmitter.

Both TV's are in separate houses showing exactly the same fault.
I cannot even get a tuning menu up when its in Digital mode.
All the correct menus function when the Sky box is connected.

All I get is a black screen, but the TV is definitely on.

Driving me insane, any thoughts would be appreciated.

I have done the obvious things, disconnected everything except the aerial lead, powered down etc;

That is a weird fault.

It sounds more like a tv fault rather than a tuning problem. When I first read it I though that you could be on an old aerial which used to be grouped (tuned to a specific range of channels).

Now digital channels cover a far wider range of channels so you need a wide band or full band aerial.

There should be a support number for your TV manufacturer and the channel change people to help you work out exactly what has happened.

Managed to get through to some geezer at Toshiba Technical and he has said that the TV's need a firmware update.
Wonder how many people are struggling with this ???
Thanks for your response

Frequencies didn't change, just a juggling of channel numbers. Kids programmes, CBBC, Cbeebies, etc from 70, 71 ... moved to 120, 121 ... and news channels from 80 ... to 130 ...

It was necessary to retune to update the programme guide, My Panasonic TVs did it automatically.

My Panasonics, JVC and Samsung all retuned just fine too !
It really odd, anyway Toshiba sent me a firmare update on a memory card and it didnt work.
One Toshiba now on the tip, the second earmarked for same location.
Lifes too short ....

What did Toshiba say when you told them the memory card was faulty?

Why did you consign the TV to the tip when a cheap STB costs less than a new TV?

It isnt worth the hassle as it just takes too long. Haven't bothered going back to Toshiba either.
TV was several years old anyway and not really up to the job anymore.
It being faulty made the decision for me.
