Good afternoon all, I'm looking for some advice and direction please.

I was driving on the northbound M1 at 1am this morning, about 5 miles from junction 13 when I saw some flashes coming from the camera gantry about a quarter of a mile ahead. The only traffic passing underneath was lorries, which therefore could not have been doing more than 60. I had the cruise control set to 70, but I slowed immediately to 50. Nevertheless as I passed under the gantry the flash went off. At no point before, or after the gantry were there any reduced limits on display, nor were any lanes closed, which leads me to believe there was some sort of fault. With that in mind, is there any way out the NIP if it comes through, and is it worth my while contacting the Highways Agency and explaining what happened?

Thanks in advance.

Not unknown for flashy things to be broken, I was once flashed by a red light camera, along with everybody else who went on green.

Why not just wait and see. No need to worry about defences if nothing arrives.

I was pretty sure I got flashed a few months ago in the same area, northbound just before jn13. Heard nothing, and I definitely wasn't speeding either. I wouldn't worry about it.

I had something similar on the M25 recently near the Clacket Lane services, one one of those gantry cameras.

I went through the gantry (no alternative limit shown) at a GPS speed of 70 (cruise control) and got flashed.

Went by a week later and got flashed again - and so did most of the people going past at the same time.

No NIP luckily!

Just had this happen to me same location northbound before j13, no speed limit signs up, cc set to 70 and flash went off, it appeared to go off again about 5 to 10 seconds after as well so will have to wait and see.

Does anyone know how to go about reporting a fault?

Don't worry about it, it doesn't matter.

same with me last night -I was going a touch more than the NSL though - it was the only camera to flash on my entire 150 mile tourney down the M1

I live in MK and travel on the M1 regularly.

I've been flashed by that camera at least 10 times, at various speeds but all at night and when there hasn't been a speed limit displayed on the gantry signs.

Nothing has ever come through and I just ignore it now.

Is this not white lines on the road are for - any easy proof in either direction. I would say you have absolutely nothing to worry about on this one.

I got flashed on my M1 northbound journey to MK last night. I think its the same camera and yep, it was the only one to 'pop off'.

Ah, these posts make me happy. J13 M1 just at the top of the hill before the junction, I got flashed late at night dec 28th travelling at the same speed as the rest of the journey, a bit above the NSL, so I'll ignore this one.

Did you get anything through from this in the end? I'm hoping not!
