Thinking seriously about pulling trigger on a 190 bhp 340R.
Want to use it for track days to start to learn track driving and to drive to and from tracks in UK.
Only other option I am considering is Two Eleven but like styling/rarity of 340R better.
Can anyone give me views of both cars ?

it's not the answer you're looking for as I haven't owned either and only viewed a few 2-11s when I bought my Radical but the 2-11 would get my vote out of the 2 as being the better tool for track (and better looking), I saw a 340 on the road yesterday (Effingham, Surrey) and it just looked like a homebrew Atom!

I'm hoping to get my S2 on track later this month which should be fun. After owning the Radical I wanted something that I could realistically live with and drive to-from track but also use for work when the mood took me. Both cars imo would be crap on road and would have to be used a lot on track to make the investment worth it.

Where are you based? You're more than welcome to have a poke around my 340R if you're in the North Bucks/Oxon area anytime.

I looked at both and ended up with 2-11 as IMHO a better car for track use and Toyota engine with 252bhp means there isn't much that can touch you on track,

The advantage of variable traction control and ABS means the car is easy to drive near the limit.

Values have been rock steady for years.

Plato seemed to like it :- http://youtu.be/or4iFIUUpdM as did Harris :- http://youtu.be/JuLpKhpjdP0

Good luck either way.

2-11 is fantastic but maybe not the ideal thing to start 'learning track driving'. It's extremely competent and flatters the driver up to a point but ultimately it's a much spikier proposition than an Elise.

I don't know your driving experience and skill but I think anyone new to trackdays would benefit from something much more progressive on the limit. That way learn safely and progress much more quickly.
Maybe an Elise SC with the added practicalities of roof, heater and radio...
