I *think* it can be any firefly explosion if big enough and close enough...in the reddit thread some people said they got it on hung jury as well...but then a lot of people have used that gun with no problems.
It's just that hand cannons have the worst combination of being closer and higher impact, and a LITC bullet makes it worse again.
If I get time I might do some testing on patrol to see if it's repeatable.
Anecdotally people have also had the lockup from looking at someone else's firefly explosion!
A lock up on patrol last night...don't think this was a LITC shot actually as it critted for 540 rather than 6XX that an earlier shot does

Innocent - which bit are you stuck on?
If you don't have the very first mission - you can still do it. Ask someone who has completed the mission to load you in as part of their fireteam - you can complete it that way and get the quest item. I would happily do it tonight but I'm driving to "Cheltenham+Gloucester"
As an SGA for the longer game - once you're 300+ exotic engrams will drop at 310 (around 1/3 of the time)...so worth stocking up on a few types of each engram from Xur each week and keeping them until you're 300+
Then pop them and use them as expensive infusion material for your other stuff.

Haven't had any of these additional quests. Mustn't have been high enough gunsmith or collected the right things.
I do now have a touch of malice though which is interesting.
Did the raid and got the ghost. Poor haul this week. Will either spend my spare time getting the exotic sword or I might bring my hunter up to speed.

Yeah, aside from the calcified fragments its not that grindy. It's really useful for oryx. Phil - shame about your raid
its always a bit pot luck with randoms..Just powerlevelled my hunter from 170-292 in about 4 hours. Need an artifact and then I might have a crack at the raid with it over the weekend.

Strudel, on your character screen there will be an indicator with IX in it, called exotic particles. That tells you it you have a 3oC active. Just keep checking it, if it has disappeared then use another one.
In some strikes such as shield brothers, each of the last bosses counts as an ultra. So basically the first boss you drop will use up that 3oC, you can pop another before you drop the second one.
