hi...i have a 2004 mondeo 2.0 tdci, i noticed that the car must be losing fuel because of puddle on driveway. Ive traced it back to being the union on the pipe that connects to the fuel rail from the fuel pump. I firstly tried to see if tightening the joint up would solve the leak but it was already really tight so thought id undo the joint to see if there was anything i would beable to do to solve the leak but unfortunately with it seemed like a waste of time and the leak just got a bit worse so i thought id just tighten the joint back up and take the car to the local garage because i couldnt get to the pump side of the pipe to remove it altogether...plus im not very good with mechanics...and let them sort it out for me. Unfortunately when i tried to start the car back up to take the car down to the garage it wouldnt start. I tried to start it a good few times until the battery was starting to run down, so gave up on it, took the battery off and its now on charge. Im sure that the leak is to do with the fluted part of the pipe on the end that couples onto the fuel rail, but i think air mustve got into the system or something for it not to start. Can anybody help me to be able to get the car started so i can get it down to the garage to get it sorted please or give me anymore advise that you think could help me sort the starting problem and fixing the leak. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
