Jaguar XE Launch Show

As an X Type owner the XE obviously interests me and therefore I sat in front of my PC at 7:15 as Jaguar stated the show would start, well it didn't all we got was some 'selfies' of celebs attending the show. When the show eventually started we got 'Jaguar the musical' nice but it went on for so long, I went to have my tea, watched a bit of the England match came back and I think we'd got to 1964 (Audi and BMW had launched another generation of cars during this period). Eventually the XE appeared and yes it looks good the smaller brother of the XF, but updated and with the new alu body and engines should be a hit. But what I wanted to see was the interior and they didn't show a single picture in the film promo or during the LIVE event. I now suspect the reason is that having seen some pictures this morning it looks dull. Jaguar have with all their recent cars made interiors with a sense of occasion, I hope it's just the marketing pics that aren't well shot, but the wow factor is missing.
I did the same, sat their last night and watched the launch. Ended up being quite bored which is unlike recent Jaguar launches / videos??? Outside design of the XE looks nice and price will probably be competitive, let's hope it just takes off like many of the other more recent Jaguars.
They obviously went to a lot of trouble and I know that is the SOP for launches to the dealer network. They should maybe keep it to them. I loved their good to be bad campaign, and I have to say the XE looks a nice piece of kit - a small brother for the XF, and faster than the current XF, none the worse for that.
But I did not watch it live and I scrolled forward to the car bits. The impression that kind of thing gives me is that it is a private party for a load of celebs who I don't wannabe, and who probably get paid to show up, the dealers and the JLR people. Some actors go through the motions and there is some creativity b
ks. I actually feel excluded which I assume is not the objective. It is too luvvy by half imho and dangerously reminiscent of the 'gorgeous' campaign which made me feel nauseous (and I owned quite a few cars from that era).
Can they not do something real and car related which their target market can identify with?
Incidentally, I was one of those who thought the F Type was underwhelming at the launch, because I was kind of expecting an 'E-Type' style revolution. I am prepared to admit I was totally wrong, it is stunning.

I agree 100%Especially when comparing the interior with the XF and F-Type. I asked at the local dealer last time I brought in the XF for a service, and they said they wouldn't have one in before May 2015. So I will wait for my final verdict till after I actually seen one for real.
Technically it is a very interesting car though. I particularly like the fact that it is RWD and slightly smaller and more light weight than the XF. (I always thought the XF was a bit too big.)
