Hi,
Does anyone know of know of a physical or cancelled order M3 available anywhere in stock?
I don't want a demo car, though. Must be delivery mileage, unregistered.
Thanks
Jack

I have an option to buy at Cooper Tunbridge Wells. I won't be taking up the option - this dealership was brilliant when Tony Lewis was sales manager but he moved to another dealership a couple of months ago and Cooper TW has gone from hero to zero. No response to my emails, no test drive, which Tony had previously arranged. Just awful. But if you're interested, the car was supposed to be delivered - of course I don't know if this happened because Cooper TW don't reply to my emails!

Car is high spec, with on the road price, complete with 5 year service plan, of £66,285. here is quick overview of the spec:

Exterior colour: Black Sapphire
Interior: Sonoma Beige Full Merino Leather
Advance parking package - reverse assist camera
DCT transmission
Black alloy wheels
Sunblinds and sun protection glass
Extended storage
Front armrest
Adaptive LED headlights
Surround view plus head-up display
HK sound system
Internet
Speed limit display
Piano Black interior finish

I think that's about it. The deal I had was to part exchange my M135i (bought March 1st) at the same price I paid for it - that was thanks to Tony. That car has dropped about £5k since March but Cooper TW still had to honour the agreement. Even that good deal won't persuade me to buy another car from this dealership - for my next BMW I'll go to Tony's new dealership. But if you can put up with awful customer service then you might get something of the price, bearing in mind they would have had to absorb a £5k loss on my trade-in. I doubt whether they would want an high spec custom ordered car sitting in the showroom for too long.

Best of luck . . . .

I saw a black M3 in its delivery tape parked up with the 2nd hand cars when I drove past the other day.

When you can get an M5/6 for exactly the same price you have to really like M3/4s though!

Could be the same one. The order form still has my name on it. Maybe someone at Cooper TW will wake up and wonder what to do with it . . . or maybe not.

Mineral Grey
Full SO leather (or maybe black. Thoughts?)
Jet black wheels
DCT
Carbon trim
HK
Sun protection glass
Service Inclusive

Don't need any more than that.

Currently got a 210k mike stbox E39 530d Touring ex-police car for smoking around in. It will replace that. E63 and GT3 stopping.

Will make a great fleet, three of germanys finest!

Have you seen SO leather in the flesh? I havent but the E92 in Grey/Red was the combo to have. Grey/Black is the safe choice, although SO isn't exactly left field.

Not seen SO yet. Looks very red. Not very orange at all to me. Which is good. Grey and red always look good together.

Now just the wait for it to arrive.

I've tested 2 M4's both with SO interior, I'd say it is half way between orange and red. It wouldn't be my choice but it looks better in the flesh than in pictures.

SO in the F10 M5 is far more orange than red. What's strange is through the Sun Prot Glass it does look red but when you open the doors it's kind of a surprise.

Mine's Monte Carlo Blue with Sakhir & i love the combo as sets the car apart from it's Black/Black 520d nephews.

The swatch in the dealer looked quite bright but when I put it inside the car it darkened down quite a bit.
Whatever it is, it'e a big detparture for me. Never had anything other than black leather in my cars.
Plus I think it will go really well with the grey.

Nice to see a lightly specced car for once.
No need for all the added fripperies in my opinion - they're well specced as standard.
I toyed with the black wheels (although they're not really black) but thought the standard grey work better with the YMB.

No HUD, Jack?
Works very well.

I've seen a black with SO interior and it looked great, certainly not overly orange.
When is yours estimated for delivery?

HUD wasn't really something that interested me, to be honest. If it did the night vision thing then I may hve looked at it, but a grand for having the rev and speedo 6" higher wasn't doing it for me.

The only other option I ummed and arred over was the brake option. In the end I couldn't justify that either.

Anyway, happy with the spec now. I've been given a late Oct/early Nov guide for delivery. I've asked them to push it as much as they can.

First job when I get it is to get some PaintShield on the front and get the geo checked and raised to its maximum factory negative camber limits and get the toe checked and set. Actually looking forward to getting it up on the ramp and having a look at all that bespoke M suspension work. Quite an extensive list of changes. The Drive+ video of the chassis and suspension component changes is very interesting.

T25UFO can you confirm with us if you are buying this car or not, as I've visited Cooper TW today to pick up some bits for my other car and I've seen the car your describing. Although I wasn't in the market for a new M, one thing led to another today and I can get a good deal on this car, which is perfect spec for us however they weren't sure if the car was available or not. If you could clear up for us what is going on so I can give them the nod to sell it to us and I can then be in my new M goodness within the week biggrin
Many thanks

Apologies for delay in replying - had an overseas business trip.

No I won't be buying and actually I don't think they want to sell the car to me! Might sound odd so let me explain.

I had a deal (confirmed in writing by the previous sales manager) to buy back my M135i for the same price I paid for it in March. The sales manager moved on to another dealership in July and Cooper TW clearly did not want to honour this agreement. I've seen the figures and they will lose £5,000 on the buy back - or put it another way, they would be discounting the M3 by £5,000 if sold to me. OK, I realise no dealer wants to lose money, but the buy back was offered without any coercion from me and everything confirmed in writing.

What really annoyed me was complete lack of response to my emails requesting simple things like: what is the build status? When are you going to offer me a test drive? The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I eventually received a reply only after I threatened to file a complaint with BMW UK Customer Services - email last Friday from Cooper TW said:

"I am dropping you a line to try and resolve this unsatisfactory situation regarding your potential purchase of an M3. I have a vehicle in stock which you specified, I have a vehicle you can borrow next weekend for an extended demonstration. I have an offer made to you by my predecessor which I will honour."

That was the first time I had actually been told that the car had been delivered to Cooper TW. I've bought SEVEN new cars from another Cooper dealership since 2004 so you could say I was a reasonably good customer. My money will now go elsewhere. Now you know what Cooper TW would lose on my buy back, I hope this enables you to negotiate a good price . . . but don't rely on good customer service.
