As above, Im going to the revival on Friday but as Im off to France on Saturday thought I'd swing by for 11.30am to see the two Lancs as its a pretty special thing. Any suggestions as where to view them from outside the circuit?

Thanks

I would suggest on top of the hill by the racecourse , I should have a route Thursday/Friday for you.

Allow for the Pedal Pushers (Tour of Britain) mid day Saturday though

Is the tour of Britain coming past Goodwood? I watched the Vulcan from the Trundle and tbh was not that impressed, it seemed it was in another county! I'd like to get quite close if possible.

it is the free bit of the revival before you cross the road to go into the circuit, We have tickets for Saturday but might pop along to "over the road" on Sunday

Up on the trundle (highest point of the downs). Go up the hill past the open air museum, when you get to the top, the road takes a sharp left. There is a lane straight ahead, go down there and there is car parking at the end. Amazing views for miles, either sit there or walk higher

Think you may see both Friday at 1130. A lot of conflicting flying programmes out for the next few days.

Confirmed by goodwood both lancasters and fighter escort at 1130 tomorrow so no need to pop along Saturday.

I work in Chichester, and just had the pleasure of seeing the 2 Lancasters and 3 Spitfires flying round for the past 10 minutes.

For Saturday looks like they will overfly petworth park at about 1126(NW to SE) then towards goodwood along the A285. Should pass over Duncton and Burton Mill Pond (1127). Then over the high ground on the A285 to Goodwood.

Meant to add-the viewpoint halfway up Duncton hill would be a good place to see them coming from the north.

Corrected for you wink although it stumped the commentator. He also thought the station commander of Coningsby was also OC BBMF

Does anyone know the outcome of the problem that the Mustang P51 had during the sunday afternoon display when one of it's landing wheels wouldn't retract? Apparently it was uncertain whether the offending wheel mechanism was locked off in the down position and it couldn't risk landing at Goodwood so off it went to Duxford.

It did retract originally but fell back down again (I have a photo sequence of it at 12FPS where it's up in one then back down in the next - it came back down rapidly eek ) . The Mustang landed safely at Duxford.
