There is a guy who comes in a german uniform each year but it is luftwaffe I think and he is German.

I went in a Carabinieri uniform this year but I noticed who was intelligent and could recognise it as Italian, unlike the guy in the tunnel who said to his mate "Ere that blokes wearing a German Uniform!!" his mate replied " No its not he has white gloves so must be Italian!!"
Most Italian car owners knew what it was and were very complementary.
The event was anniversary of Maserati so it was appropriate to wear a Carabinieri uniform.
The Carabinieri are also clebrating 200 hundred years since being created, and being as they helped depose Mussollini in the last war it seemed appropriate.
But at the ened of the day it was a bit of fun and we had a great time

See the thread a couple of pages above - SS bad / Luftwaffe ok. (saw both) Robinson's Golly definitely a no-no, despite being 'period'.

I see you also saw a lady wearing just her underwear, stockings and suspenders. Not sure that's any more period than the red trouser brigade but I guess you thought it's worth a photo eh? wink

Excuse me, no suspenders on view anywhere! What sort of a pervert do you take me for.
The 50s Bathing costume shot isn't underwear, it's 'swimwear' (No stockings or suspenders)
The ample Kitten Von Mew is wearing seamed tights, hotpants and her specially designed Battle of Britain Memorial (or was that mammorial) bustier.
The aviation art is a lady in a '1-piece' - no stockings.
As I've said before attention to detail is important. You must be recalling my treasured shot of Marilyn modelling at the 'What Katy Did' stall some years ago (2007 I believe). Boy was that ever in period!
Anyway as I approach Revival as a Leslie Phillips impersonator taking photos of scantily clad fillies is entirely in keeping - ding dong!

There was this one guy who turned up dressed as a deckchair, or perhaps it was a beach towel.

It was good to see the team captains still sporting their colours. Emanuele Pirro had his on at prize giving for a while.

You do realise that's Jochen Mass - hence the Team Captain response.

Hence the 'beach towel' quip.

Ach und himmel! Did you know there actually is a word that translates from the German as 'poolside lounger reseserving beach towel' My friend's fiancee who is Germanian did't find it amusing when asked to translate!
