Honda Civic saloon - non hybrid (UK)

Hi guys,

Been looking at the Honda civic saloon, only 8th/9th gen models, and wanted to know if they come without a hybrid engine. As in, just a normal petrol or diesel engine? Thanks!

EDIT: forgot to mention, I specifically do *NOT* want the type-R variant that I know you can get non-hybrid. Too powerful for me, and too expensive to run and insure! cheers!

Not officially. Honda only did the hybrid in that (non-Euro) saloon shape because they thought they needed a hybrid to offer, and the new Insight wasn't ready yet. They're pleasant enough in hybrid form if you like the shape and want something cheap to run.

If you really wanted one, a quick look on irish Autotrader shows some 1.8 petrols in that shape (they do love a saloon over there), pricey compared to UK hybrid models though. Forget diesels as RHD ones will be for japanese market and they really don't do diesel.

Do yo know anywhere where they are more affordable than from Irish Auto? Good to know they at least exist, but starting to think they may be a bit too powerful at the mo for me, the 1.5l engine attracted me but I realise now that was only for the hybrid version :/
