Rebuild required - 4.0L or 4.3L?
Discussion
Trying to decide between the standard rebuild or 4.3 upgrade and would really appreciate a test drive in a 4.3 to assess the difference. Has anyone got a 4.3 within 40-50 miles of Brighton who would be willing to offer me a short test drive - happy to arrange a one off insurance (and a pint) if necessary.
Thanks guys, Roger

With your location I'd go to Racing Green and try out the FFF Tuscan demonstrator before you decide on anything.
Hi again Matt,Good idea but reckon that's possibly a more expensive option, although I admit I don't know what the exact cost is and thought the FFF only fixed the head? Certainly worth a call.

RG can do just the head or the complete engine. Talk to them as costs aren't dissimilar to those of a 4.3. You'll be surprised just listening to one. I have a 4.5 in a T350 if you want to go for a spin, I live near Sittingbourne, Kent and we could meet up somewhere, she is going to TVR Power for the first 6000 miles service and picking her up next Saturday so happy to meet on the Sunday 28th September, you will not be disappointed and will be getting your check book out

Thanks for the kind offer Gary, a friend of mine actually has a 4.5 which I have driven, although he is still within his limited rev range at the moment. I certainly can't justify that expense having probably spent a bit too much on the car in the first place - rose coloured glasses and all that.
The 4.3 would be the optimum and I just wanted to assess how much quicker it feels over and above the standard lump. Thanks again, Roger

There is not a lot of difference between the 4.3 and 4.5 just more torque so you will not be dissapointed with the 4.3 it then comes down to the technical bit the nut behind the wheel , so if you have driven the 4.5 then it's similar to a 4.3, hope that helps, still happy to meet you if you want to see what it is like
