Turned on the iPad this morning as was confronted with this:

It takes up the whole screen. I don't know if it is a coincidence, but the iPad also had a fit when I tried to close the ad and had to do the iPad equivalent of CNTL ALT DELETE.

Yes....

We should not be serving rich media ads (such as the Philips drop down) on Tablet devices, I have got this removed.

Completely agree. Logging on in particular has become a chore because so many things are fighting against me, I just got run over by a Kia Cee'd which came charging in and pushed me off the bottom of the page. It's like walking into a restaurant and instead of a welcoming smile you get the door slammed in your face and told to fk off.

They shouldn't need to be.

I understand that the site need ad revenue to continue to exist, no problem with that.

What is insanely annoying are the giant pop up ads that bounce out a few seconds after the page loads, the animated ones or the ones that replace the background of the site. They all look appalling and really ruin the browsing experience.

You need to get sorted.

Agreed.

Until it does get sorted, I'll use the above.

Incidentally, with regard to poor advert management - the rotating PH shop adverts on the homepage still seem to be promoting LM2014 merch - this is the first or second advert that is displayed when the page loads. Maybe the supplier has some in the back they need to shift, but surely a better business case is to advertise stuff that people have a better chance of buying, thus creating additional revenue for PH and not making the site appear out of date?

I thought I'd be fair and turn my Adblock off on PH.

That lasted less than a week.

Talk about irritating! I hate moving adverts and all I kept seeing were 'Stoptober' ads - nice to see ads about smoking when I managed to stop back in 2011.

I have noticed that every once in a while the Adblock will nuke a post or two (I think ones that are next to ads or contain links to ad-related stuff) but meh, I can live with that.

I rarely use my ipad for browsing but had to lasy night. PH is pretty much unusable. Whenever I went to 'click' on a link the darn page would jump loading an advert or another resizing. Extremely frustrating - gave up.

It's one of the reasons I rooted my Nexus 7. I must get round to doing the same on the phone.
