I can't say I know it but it seems good value for what it is to me.
I think the only thing that would concern me is the amount of things they've changed before it's been advertised. Seems like there was a fault they were chasing but if it's gone then happy days.

I've viewed it, motor trader said he had been using it as his smoker (trader term for daily ride).
He said he was going to get the front damage repaired and painted for the summer but ran out of time.
Seemed to know his TVR's (more than me anyway)as he has owned a few.
Couple of things not disclosed however.
Synchro failing on 5th (ok if not rushed).
Screen delaminated badly drivers side with small chip directly in front of driver (small enough to fill I think).
Wheels need refurb.
Interior needs tidying, dash etc.
That's all I can remember.
He's open to offers as well.

Hi Lance, thanks for the response, that's saved me a journey. I was considering going to look at it on Friday morning on my way to an RAF reunion in North Wales. The show stopper for me is the failing synchro on 5th. I know some on here will say "whip out the box and refurb then upgrade and blah, blah, blah" but I don't want to do that.
Thanks again, much appreciated.

Hi Ged,
I must say whilst talking to Mark he didn't hide the bad points, he pointed them out, some were obvious anyway.
I am looking for a "fix-er-upper", something to keep me out of the house now I am a "free mam - not a number".
I may make him an offer, but there is a cheaper unloved Chim nearer to me I am also interested in.
Cheers
Lance

Didn't think you could have chips in front of the driver repaired?
Should be an MOT fail too if it's not repaired. (if it's in the prescribed area).

The criteria for a repair is quoted below..........

"Damage of up to 40mm across can sometimes be repaired, depending on where in the screen it is situated. If the damage is right in front of the driver - in the area known as the 'A zone' - only damage up to 10mm can be repaired. This is slightly less than the size of a 5 pence coin."

I'd prefer a new screen myself.

Cheers
Lance

Just out of interest, is the 5th gear synchro a common problem? I'm assuming it's an LT77 box as it's a '93 Chimaera?

I would think it IS an LT77 if it's a 93 car. NOt too sure about the 5th gear thing though. I had one in my 93 Griff and it was ok. But I'd prefer a T5 now I've had both. Could always put a T5 in I suppose...
