Croatia to uk must do/see

I will be returning from Croatia in the first week of October. The route back is still up in the air and wondered if anyone has done similar before and had some tips. Or anyone that hasn't has any favourites along the way home direction?

I did a road trip for a month in June.
Drove from the UK to Kosovo and back. Spent a week in Croatia so I am sure I can give some recommendations.
But firstly...
Whereabouts in Croatia?
What vehicle are you in?
And how many people in the car?

There are plenty of options and it's a great journey

There will be 2 of us in a mx5 decorated like Austin powers shaguar. Don't ask will be in Croatia for only a couple days and staying in pula so not really taking in too much of the country but obviously be crossing almost all of Austria and Germany on the way home.

Just back from a Croatia/Italy road trip.

Obvious choice is via Italy, with Venice being the obvious choice. And that brings the mountain passes into play: Stelvio (into Austria) or Splugen (a bit further East into Switzerland). We did the latter. Fun, but wouldn't want to do it in pouring rain.

Or perhaps return via Ljuljana (great place - only there one day, though), Salzburg, etc. With a side trip to Berchtesgaden for the Eagle's Nest, Konigsee, Rossfeld http://www.rossfeldpanoramastrasse.de/en/panorama-... etc).
