After a couple of posts re non working mirrors I have finally got them working.
I located the mirror ecu (at the top of the drivers foot well hidden behind air vent hose and a few other bits).
Took the wiring off (large multi pin) fitted replacement ecu and nothing. The wiring from ecu splits into 2 connectors, took these off and cleaned them and mirrors fine.
Couldn't resist putting old ecu back to check that I had not wasted the equivalent of 3 btls of scotch!! Didn't work. so wiring was faulty (dirty) and old ecu was kaput.

That's good to know as I'm keen to get mine working. out of interest, does your car have the plastic joy stick type adjuster or the metal pad with the adjuster on there?

Metal pad....not sure when mirror ecu started but I think that different ones have been used. If you have one the model number is on the unit.

Having done a bit of research only the cars with the metal pad have the ecu, so im going to stick with my plan that its the joystick at fault.
Glad you fixed yours though, good to know they can be fixed.
