It is a split lunge. Strange how such a site would name the exercise wrong. :s
Back knee should also be around 2 inches off the floor, not as close as that. Knee flexion is ok in the male exercise (couldn't see a female one) - the knee "can and should" travel over the toe when squatting or lunging [but not exclusively]. (Fry AC, Smith JC, Schilling BK. J Strength Cond Res. 2003 Nov;17(4):629-33 This is the version that is taught to professionals with REPS accreditation and anyone wanting to teach lunges in a professional and duly insured capacity.
