Agree. Good to hear some 80's numbers prior to ELO. Blondie was good too.

On red button for the next few days, I think, and iPlayer probably. Great gig, only thing I didn't like was the lack of programme start and end on the red button channel as usual, so I ended up recording about 5.5 hours just for this.

I've just watched this on the iPlayer. There seemed to be something missing for me, like there was not much energy in it so something. It just seemed lacking...

I thought it started off a bit, I dunno...rusty.
But it got better and really enjoyed it.
The sound is all wrong though. I think it may even be Mono?...it needs a good 5.1 remixing! I wonder if they'll make it better and put it out on DVD or something?

The lead vocals were too low on every band.

God only knows what Debbie Harry thought she was wearing; as in her early days, to me she's still most charismatic when she's hardly moving at all.

ELO was great, but didn't seem to really connect with the audience - they should have had some sing-along bits; I mean you could hear the crowd above the amps all the way through Mr Blue Sky, would have been nice to extend some of the choral in the middle for singing.

Love Billy Ocean's faith in the audience - don't bother singing the first verse of "going gets tough" - the audience will do it for you, even though they're not specifically "yours"!

They played it on Radio 2 this afternoon

Right from the moment he said "what happens when the going gets tough"
It was obvious that the crowd were going to participate all the way

Why are they referred to as "Geoff Lynn's ELO" by Chris Evans mainly?

No doubt some copywrite issue over the ELO name when they split.

He set up the group and is the only constant member.

Right, well I sort of get that but seeing as his demographic will be in their 50's why bother?

They (you) are not that senile that you need reminding who ELO are, like there's another one with another different top dude that set them up.

I am guessing it's a copyright issue as mentioned earlier. Saying that if he set ELO up then why would there be issues?
