Er, in 2012 a GT40 sold for $11 million. An SS100 3.5 litre sold for £250,000. does that answer your question?

The record auction sale price for an SS Jaguar 100 3½-litre (CKV 666) was $1,045,000 (August 2010).
The 1968 GT40 sold for a record $11 million in August 2012.

Interestingly, just over a hundred GT40s (of all types) were produced and, similarly, just over a hundred SS Jaguar 100 3½-Litre cars. However, there were also just under a hundred 2½-litre cars.

As Brian Lister ruefully said when I interviewed him, "there are more Listers around now than I ever built".

Are there still more "gen u ine" D-Types out there now than Jaguar ever built?
or has the recent spate of remergers finally dealt with that issue.

Haven't Lister gone back into the making more.

I find it slightly amusing to compare the two.

I mean, have you actually driven an SS100? Let's just say I prefer to look at them.

If you want to be sure, look at the history of the D-type that won the race at Goodwood as an example and look at others that "turned up out of the woodwork" 30 years after the records show they were dismantled for spares in the 1950s.
