Agree with all the above and it's getting worse. It's stopping me from browsing the classifieds.

Also, I'm getting bored of the number of "now sold but looking for similar" ads. An extreme example is in the 997 GT3 section. There are 54 cars listed for sale, in reality over 20 are sold and a handful not GT3's. What about a wanted section? What about vetting the ads before they go live?

The ads team are now rechecking all campaigns to make sure that they are not serving any rich media ads to iPads - they will get back to me when done.

So if you spot any after today let me know.... (also it is helpful to know what the advert is for so we can find it quicker)

Go and get you hammer out.

Apprentice add side scrolling on classifieds this morning on iPad. Intensely annoying, in fact, off to auto trader app instead.

Of my previous cars 6 have been bought via PH. Tried this time and its just a hassle to 'browse' so I bought off AT this time. At least you know what your up against there whereas PH has all these random ads making your screen jump about all over the place.

Latest one is Direct line on the home page.

Peter,

useless on Safari today. Ads just flash and prevent scrolling or in classifieds going from one page of ads to another. Ads also flashing on main site and forums (as I type this)

I've always preferred the classifieds on PH since whenever I can remember but of late I've genuinely started using Autotrader instead.

I'm afraid I don't feel that the PH management are really listening to what the customers are saying

considering the amount of threads on the subject + the fact they are still here tells you the answer.

People even offered the suggestion of paying a subscription to get rid of Ads.

I dont generally browse PH anymore, its too much hard work with pages jumping all over the place. Look at what I always have, then leave it.

Adverts are now making the classifieds unworkable and I'm actually trying to buy a car!

This exactly- making the classifieds very much less useable, much less enjoyable, and really annoying. If that's how you want your users to feel...

Purchased a Microsoft Surface and the classifieds are 100% more enjoyable again than on the bloody IPad. Still have ads, but they're far less intrusive. The pages are not taking an age to load now either. I think this is a combination of site design and the turd that is the IPad.

fking adverts are pissing me off hugely!
At the top, with expansions and videos meaning what I think I clicked on isn't as the page moves around, then the adverts on the side getting on my tits etc etc etc etc
Just had to vent!
HATE IT.
STOP IT
(Please)

Same here, finding it almost impossible to use the classifieds this morning due to Tesco and SKY adverts.

A few years ago they were the absolute best way to browse/buy/dream of buying the next car. Now even when I need to use them I'm reluctant to.

Sort it out for fks sake!

Installed an Ad Blocker - no more annoying, page slowing mega adverts smile

SKY, Vauxhall, VW, Nissan, Sony, etc. etc. etc. your advertising money is now wasted on me - you've only got yourselves (and PH) to blame.

The amount of times I've read that someone has resorted to installing Adblocker software to overcome the intrusive adverts on PH has definately increased over the past few months.

Surely someone is reading these threads, and realising that more and more people are not seeing these adverts. Its easy to say no-one at Pistonheads cares as the advertising money is still coming in, but the stats for page visits etc must show that the adverts are puuting off potential visitors.

I have to agree that I no longer use the Classifieds on PH, as trying to view them on an IPad is ridiculous, with the images of the vehicles you are looking at being shrunk to accomadate the adverts on three sides of the page.

It's not just the classifieds but the forum pages too. I load a page on my ipad the and ads loading move stuff around at critical moments. I try to click on the Gassing Station link and end up by keep hitting the Mates link under My Info. The PH website has really gone to the dogs.

The new Ford advert (where the car parks itself as you scroll down) is making my browser (Chrome) almost grind to a halt.
I have btinfinity so should be plenty fast enough.

So frustrating I have now given up browsing the classifieds for a well deserved tea break.

Ads at the sides driving me nuts.

Ruined the experience once again. I don't know how PH keeps getting this so wrong.

And if anyone thinks people really think 'ooh that's an interesting advert, I think I might click on that' must be fking stupid. The only clicks you get are accidental from the page loading up so slowly you get tricked into it.

Here's an example...

Who in your website team thinks this is a good idea?

Your front page is over 50% littered with junk. The main content is shoehorned into a tiny gap.

Seriously, if PH thinks that's conducive to a decent browsing experience you are mad. I'm sure it brings in the £££ though, which is sadly what this site has become.
