Hi Guys, just thought I'd share my classic mini with you all, some people love it and some hate it!

It's a 1982 Austin Mini painted in Mazda winning blue pearl with a fast road spec 1380cc engine producing 96bhp so fairly nippy

I like my wheels, but am tempted my swapping the wheels for 10" alloys over winter

It's great fun to drive and only costs £133 to insure fully comp with all mods!.. Over winter I will be redoing the interior and upgrading the suspension.

Chris.

Looks nice! Really tidy.

I prefer 10's too, but I actually quite like the look of the 13's on your car.

Yes the 13" wheels do look good, but it's a bit of a handfull over rough surfaces and cambers!, I think smaller wheels with the ballon tyres should help this

Think this works, painted my arches and added a set of 1275 gt style side decals

Nice looking Mini thumbup

I've never seen that sort of ignition set up though with the distributor on the bulkhead, can you tell me more about it please.

Coil pack for electronic ignition, distributor is blanked off. Looks like a Megajolt or similar.

Yes its a Megajolt ECU setup, it basically uses a Ford Edis coilpack, a crankshaft position sensor from a Fiesta with a suitable trigger wheel and a throttle position sensor on the side of the carb. You then basically can plug your laptop in and have full control over the engine timing, rev limit and has built in shift light function.

Nice Mini, looks far better with the arches painted.

My last Mini was a bit more traditional (had them with arches and wide 13's so went back to basics), even retained the vinyl seats and big standard steering wheel.

Engine was a 1380 Swiftune with twin 1.1/2" SU's, big PlayMini exhaust.

Shamefully i stripped it and sold it in bits following engine problems frown

Liking the new look, although personally I'd reinstate the bumpers. I remember bombing around in these 20 years ago and loving almost every minute ( not good on the motorways).

Yes lovely mini but would look great with the bumpers back on! My mini looks almost identical to the black one there ( spookily so.... )and was de-seamed when i got it. I fitted small angled brackets to the bumper mounts then sank rivnuts into the body which they attached to. They come off when I sprint it, but look cool as the rest of the time. I had 13's on a mini once, but with a long diff it killed the acceleration even with a 1380. I much prefer 10's myself but the world would be boring if we all had the same!

Great mini anyhow!

Liking it, 10" are nice but you compromise on braking a little I have 10" on mine, but they look good.

Just taxed it after getting it out of storage, apart from a jump start it fired up straight away!

Lots of recent work including this box of toys!

new Red Dot cones, Gaz adjustable dampers, HiLo's. I have now replaced and upgraded all of the front suspension and subframe mounts.

I also have these sequential shift lights to wire into the Megajolt

And a few recent pics from a car show

I also have one of those cheap lease deal 208 GTI's on the way!!
