I can kind of understand the "polite" horsey people wanting drivers to take notice and increase their safety etc....

Just had the misfortune of driving behind a total bell-end driving a Focus RS-powered Transit Connect done up like a police van with included area crest and battenberg markings, with POLITE in large letters over it.

Blatantly making itself look like a cop van.

Normally I wouldn't mind and laugh it off, but the guy was driving like an absolute throbber soft brake testing a Vivaro van behind him (I was behind the vivaro) and then thundering off like an idiot. I don't know if vivaro was a "friend" and they were having a laugh but FFS its rush hour people don't need idiots on the roads acting like idiots thats what a track is for!

I know there is probably nothing that can be done but I needed to rant biggrin

You could always report it to the actual rozzers, something that distinctive shouldnt be too hard for a trafpol car to find

Yep, as much as people like to say they are asking others to be polite, the only reason it is done is because from a quick glance, it would be assumed to be a police car.

The horse riders got slapped down for it, they wouldn't make one in different, less policey designs with "respect" on them, which would be just as good if the cover story was true.

Dunno to be fair but but a quick google reveals they have a RS power transit and would tie in with CSM being in the "crest" part of the logo.

not in my mind a good advert for a garage! (mainly the state of the driving)

Yes. Yes they are.

Plain white helmets and battenburg vests = tosspots.

Yes its one of Geoff's work vans, Focus RS powered. I doubt the police would be interested, its clearly not trying to be a police van, its just an advertisement.

If the company was called "Polite" then maybe, but this is overtly trying to mimic a police vehicle.

Exactly, please explain to the class what part the 'POLITE' script has in the advertising.

True, but being a knob isn't against the law. If it was half the people on PH would be guilty...
