Not a hint of sarcasm. If someone has the inside track, let's hear about it. Phrases such as 'the word on the street' from a person I've never seen post before suggests they know something. That should be an F1 PH sticky that advice! Can't see it being taken much though... of course agents can always let slip dis / information to bump up their driver's fees, and possibly plant that seed into loud orange Irish men in loud shirts for mass dissemination.You can have as much fun speculating as you like. When I ran one of my F1 Fanzine websites I met an ex-Brabham mechanic, from the time of Piquet. He wasn't the happiest of men but came up with a certain amount of information and, better still, contacts. You can have as much fun speculating as you like. Only reason I ever bother posting on such threads is if I see something that suggests someone may have some information as an insider.
I put a bit of such sourced information on my site, in the form of a mock interview with a team principal - a regular post-race feature, and I got a lot of stick back from readers saying that what I had written was rubbish, in particular from someone who worked in F1 PR, normally an excellent source of comment. When it came true he told me how lucky I was in my guess.
I would suggest that most of those in the know don't know it all. I don't treat such things seriously, but you never know.
Further, as I said, it is a bit of fun but based on current circumstances. The general opinion is that FA is unhappy in Ferrari, the performance of the car being the main gripe, and if he goes there is a domino effect.
I would have thought that FA would not go back to McL, but I have to say that the consensus is against me there. Who is right? I don't know.
But what if, eh? Is it too frivolous just to speculate? It is the silly season after all so why not be a little silly.
There's every chance Alonso might sign with McLaren, but it seems extremely unlikely that'll happen until 2016. However, what is far more interesting to me is whether his reported interest in investing in an F1 team might influence his decision on where to (or indeed whether to) move to next.
My personal opinion is that he desperately wants to win one more title both to round it off to a nice treble and to prove to all (and maybe himself) that he still has 'it'. Moving to McLaren in 2016 would allow him the 'luxury' of seeing whether the Honda/McLaren alliance is working and likely to deliver him thst title.

It seems unlikely that a change on the web site signifies anything, unless the web team are the first people Ron goes to when discussing secret driver negotiations.
