Not sure who wrote this, or how it fits into the BBC website (the page looks a bit odd), but it's not a bad read if you've always wanted to try modelling, but have no previous experience:

Judgning by the number of requests from beginner modellers. it might even be worth getting rid of the "Group Build" Wiki at the top of the forum and replacing it with this (or something like it)?

Good article - but it does seem a bit out of date with some of the references.

There are some notes at the bottom of the page about new Airfix etc.

Yes - I saw those. They obviously added them later. However, the tone was still a little outdated, I felt.

However, it's still a pretty good article in itself. I wonder who wrote it?
