Motorcycle Live 2014 advanced Ticket Price con
Discussion
Having received numerous emails extolling the joys of purchasing advanced tickets to this year's show, with a saving of a whole £3.00 over the standard price of £20.00, I thought that I might avail myself of this service.
Imagine my dismay at finding that there is some spurious add-on called a Fulfilment Fee of £1.50, leading to a now massive saving of all of £1.50.
This is a practice that I have not come across before, in any of my online ticket purchases, and is worthy of the Ryanair Code of Practice.
Now, assuming that Motorcycle Live have already paid the ticketing organisation a fee, just what is this for? It's an online service, no human interaction at all, ticket by email so no printing costs. And just what is being fulfilled? Not me, after being shafted like this.
Is this normal? Anyone else come across this dubious practice?

We decided last year to only do this every other year. When you combine the extortionate car parking fees it really is a bit of a joke.
A good few years ago when I went to the Car Show at the NEC, we parked at Birmingham Airport, which worked out cheaper than the NEC. The monorail thingy is still free, and it takes you straight to the NEC.Now, assuming that Motorcycle Live have already paid the ticketing organisation a fee, just what is this for? My Mrs used to work in a ticket agency, and the "cover price" of ticket was the price everyone paid - including the agency - so the booking fee paid for the telephone staff, postage costs, credit card fees, paying teh agency staff and profit for the company. Don't know if this is the case here, but it is fairly likely that whoever is supplying the software/server space for the online ticket sales operation will be only getting that £1.50 to pay for it all.
Don't understand why tickets don't have a trade price and retail price like pretty much everything else.

COOL, I'll definitely endure at 12 hour round trip of motorways on two wheels now
I personally wouldn't but it's only a couple of hours for me. In fact - if this wasn't the only place in UK where you can sit on all the new models (and a few motorcycles, too) I wouldn't bother at all. cpl_payne said:

THE PLAN, was to get some new gear at discount prices, whilst seeing the show.
we have nothing like this in Scotland
If the last year's experience is anything to go by most discounts amount to the price of admission. we have nothing like this in Scotland
On a positive side at least you get to try on lots of different gear in one place, I don't know of any shops who can offer that in UK.

It is free for bikes, indoor too (it says)
Anyone got any advance ticket links to save the piddly sum of £3 or thereabouts?
That's my point. You don't even save £3. You have to pay a Fulfilment Fee of £1.50 per transaction. Of course, if you buy 10 tickets it's £1.50, so it's cheaper the more you buy.Anyone got any advance ticket links to save the piddly sum of £3 or thereabouts?

If you have a car full the parking isn't really an issue.
Why is that?Do you get priority parking for being popular?
there is no way they will be able to find us after tomorrow
I just want it over so I can change some currency!
